My family has been farming and ranching in Central Texas since immigrating from Sicily over 100 years ago.
I’m Kelli de la Torre, Founder of haven x Campise Farms.
As a third-generation lover of agriculture, I’m deeply grateful for the land and animal stewardship seeds that were planted in me from childhood.
I’ve woven my passions for creating beauty, communing with nature, and lessening suffering into this upbringing, and a lifelong dream is now born. haven x Campise Farms cares for retired livestock so they live their last earthly days with dignity and comfort— and, in the process, connects humans with a demonstration of radical love and compassion.
How it started…
haven’s journey began in September 2023 with four blind horses rescued from the “direct ship” slaughter pen in Bowie, Texas. We now have a dozen senior and special needs horses (plus a menagerie of small ruminants, dogs and cats!) who enjoy daily, holistic care and human kindness. They serve as our partners in our regenerative agriculture system, rotationally grazing and fertilizing our beloved soils with rich, organic nutrients. Together, we heal animals, lands and hearts.
